Senior Harware / System Engineer
With presence for over 30 years and dramatic growth for over 10 years, our client is the largest designer and marketer in North America of consumer electronics. With primary operation in Montreal, they are looking for several talents developers to continue with their growth. They are currently actively seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer .
Responsibilities;
- Designing state of the art electronics applied to remote control and convenience systems.
- Working closely with the embedded SW and RF teams as well as product development and category managers to capture system and functional level requirements.
- Lead and create design documentation, proof of concepts, design / development of the system HW including component selection and validation and PCB layout, testing / validation of the system and release to production and all associated documentation.
- Working closely with local and overseas contract manufacturers.
- Work closely with the quality group to support QA issues and field failures as needed.
- Lead the ongoing systems improvements and cost reduction redesigns.
- Technical leader in the Hardware group and lead technology roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred (or similar field / experience).
- Min of 5 years experience in Hardware / Systems design
- High volume, low cost consumer electronics and 12V design experience preferred.
- Strong background in analog, digital and power management systems (DC-DC regulators, OPAMP circuits, digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, etc.)
- Proficient analog circuit simulation skills
- Exposure to electronic design software (ex. Altium)
- Strong knowledge of PCB layout techniques for power distribution, EMC/EMI control, manufacturability and cost control.
- Strong verbal and written communicator with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
