Civil/Structural Construction Owners Rep / Owners Engineer
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating civil/structural engineering design activities and implementing design policy for the construction of combine cycle generation facilities.
Responsibilities to include:
Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
Interface with subcontractors and permitting agencies
Verify construction contract requirements are met
Mediate and resolve conflicts
Communicate project progress to owners
Ensure that all company and client project policies/procedures and standards are maintained
Perform additional requirements per client's direction
Essential skills to include:
Extensive knowledge of civil/structural design of new plant combine cycle construction
Extensive knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principals
Knowledge of various construction methods, material and their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances
Strong computer and communication skills
Working knowledge of engineering principles and practices relating to civil engineering including computer program applications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Extensive knowledge of safety policies and procedures
Working knowledge of government regulations and industry standards affecting electric utilities
Eight (8) years progressive experience in design and construction management of civil/structural and maintenance in electric utility related programs
Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred or eligible by reciprocity
Ability to direct the work of others
Willingness to travel as required (possession of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain)
