Our client is a well-established distributor of a specialty construction product. They pride themselves in offering a superior product and add value to their customers through outstanding support, training and education.
Responsibilities
You will report to the General Manager and will be responsible for keeping records of all financial transactions. As the sole person in Accounting you will have the skills and interest in performing clerical routine tasks through to assisting the owners with process improvement, strategic planning, cost savings and systems implementations.
•Preparation of financial statements, management reports, and business analysis.
•Direct the financial planning process including financial forecasts and yearly budgets.
•Month-end closing including reconciliations. Manage and process the accounts receivables and accounts payable functions including cash flow management, credit and collections. Maintenance of the general ledger, Inventory control and Benefit administration.
•Oversee all IT as it relates to Finance and Accounting
•Business review and profitability analysis on new and existing products. Compile statistical reports on business operations.
•Contribute to the success of the company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
•The ideal candidate will be a designated CMA or CGA.
•Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller in a distribution business.
•Strong experience in process improvement and internal controls
•Confidence and experience in improving systems. Researching, Selecting and the implementation of Accounting Systems
•Knowledgeable of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
•A willingness to roll up your sleeves and take care of routine functions as well as take an initiative in adding value to the company’s bottom line.
•Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
•Detail oriented and deadline driven.
