Procurement Lead

Job Description:
	Reporting to the Thermal Procurement Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and administration of all aspects of material purchases, expediting and material management for the Company Thermal Project. This successful candidate will participate in the development of the overall purchasing execution strategy and all processes, procedures, controls, monitoring and reporting structures required in all phases and aspects of the Project.
Responsibilities:
Develops Supply Chain Material Purchases Strategy based on project requirements ensuring alignment with the Overall Thermal Supply Chain Vision. Responsible to coordinate with the Project Manager and the Thermal Projects Procurement Lead the execution of Project Supply chain strategy in order to ensure project milestones are met successfully. Manages project procurement activities including: Purchasing, Expediting and Material Management. Coordinate required personnel resources and project deliverables with Thermal Procurement Lead to best utilize the existing Thermal Procurement personnel. Supervises assigned personnel in the formation, award and expediting of project purchase commitments. Undertakes formation of project purchase commitments when required by workload, complexity or other factors. Responsible for the planning, work-hour calculations and budgeting as it relates to project purchasing and expediting activities. Provides training and guidance to the Procurement Team to ensure effective execution of policies and procedures relating to project procurement activities.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
Post Secondary Education, and ideally has completed their certificate in Purchasing - CPP or CPM designation would be preferable. 15 plus years of demonstrated progressive experience within the oil and gas sector on major projects preferably with SAGD operations, in the functions of Procurement, expediting and material management. Outstanding organizational and planning skills as well as a keen eye for detail and opportunity are a must. The successful candidate will possess sound, demonstrable operational, administrative and technical judgment. The ability to think strategically and to ensure order during difficult situations is essential. Leadership attributes and highly functional in team settings. The incumbent will be a self-starter with a high energy level and team focus. A safety first attitude is essential as is a “can do” spirit. A demonstrable record of the highest standards of personal and business integrity is a must. Knowledge of Materials Management software, such as: SPM, SAP, Convero, BPS etc. will be an asset.
