SharePoint Specialist Ottawa
Our private sector client is looking for a SharePoint specialist to work out of our Ottawa location and assist with MOSS 2010 SharePoint implementation. The individual will create applications to handle various business workflows spanning various departments. This individual also needs to have experience in MS SQL Server 2008 database management and MS SQL 2005 developer. This position is an internal corporate position that requires contact with multi-site, division Users, Management, and IT department. This is for an initial one year term with possible permanent placement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide primary implementation, configuration, and ongoing support for SharePoint Products (WSS 2003, MOSS2010) to internal customers for multi-site divisions.
Creation and configuration of site collections and sites in SharePoint Server 2010 for team collaboration and hosting Performance Point dashboards and reports
Support and troubleshoot application issues as it relates the SharePoint product implementation, and operation.
Work on-site and remotely to diagnose and resolve problems related to SharePoint operation, availability, security, performance, connectivity, and overall function.
Regularly communicate with enterprise customers regarding problems, issues, questions, and concerns with products as implemented at the multiple locations.
Report and escalate problems and enhancements to development and management as appropriate, including detailed explanation of issue and recommended resolution.
Create, maintain, and enhance SharePoint product knowledge base, including technical articles, FAQ’s, sample applications, and/or demonstrations.
Provide SharePoint product internal training as appropriate, including user and system level technical training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years Administration/ Engineering / Development experience with Microsoft SharePoint MSS 2003, MOSS 2010, SQL, and web part deployment, site definitions and features.
Proficient in managing/ troubleshooting server applications: IIS, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, LDAP and networking protocols.
Experience in the configuration/Implementation and development of MS SQL Server 2005, MS SQL server 2005 (reporting, analysis and integration services), and in MS SQL Server 2008 database management.
The ideal candidate will also have experience with MOSS 2010, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, and Colligo Networks.
Proven ability to manage and solve support issues in a dynamic environment.
Proven ability to effectively interact and manage user issues either onsite or remotely.
Minimum 1 year experience supporting Microsoft server technologies.
Microsoft System Certified Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent certification is desirable.
Demonstrates ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
Ability to provide training in a group setting is an asset
Some travel to Toronto and Halifax is required
