We are a well established and respected manufacturer in the electrical industry in Canada. Our products include a broad range of electrical connectors and various other products used in the electrical industry.
We have an opening for a Sales Representative in the Northern Alberta area with primary duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Promote the sale of ourproducts primarily through electrical distributors in the assigned sales territory. Ensure that sales goals are met in the assigned territory and grow our market share. Developing strong working relationships with key individuals at current Distributors in the assigned territory. Key individuals include Branch Managers, Sales Managers, Purchasing Agents, Inside Sales and Quotations Personnel and Counter Sales Staff. Investigating and capitalizing on opportunities with other electrical distributors in the territory. This will require developing relationships, at these distributors, with individuals in similar roles as those outlined above. Developing relationships with individuals at end users, specifically customers of electrical distributors, such as electrical utilities, electrical contractors and OEM’s. This will require working with these companies to secure approvals and specifications of products and will result in the sale of products to the end users. Review, monitor and follow-up with customers and contacts in a timely manner to ensure that their needs are being effectively met. Monitor competitive trends and pressures within you territory Participate in industry tradeshows and distributor counter days within the territory. Conduct product training sessions, at distributor locations, to educate their staff on the various products we offer and their applications.
Experience/Knowledge required for this position:
Electrical educational background is required. Minimum 2 years sales experience preferably in the electrical business Knowledge of electrical codes and standards Practical knowledge of the use and application of electrical power connectors Positive attitude, a top notch work ethic and a team player Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Organization and time management skills Entrepreneur spirit Ambitious, energetic, enthusiastic Excellent presentation and communication skills (oral & written) Strong negotiation and closing skills, able to deal with diplomacy and tact in all situations Computer literacy in MS office (word, excel, power point) and familiar with Lotus notes Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel in assigned territory including overnight travel as needed
