Signal and Communication Technical Manager
Main Task:
- Installs, repairs (down to component level as required) and adjusts or replaces defective communications equipment;
- Tests faulty communications equipment isolates and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems in order to diagnose cause of malfunction;
- Receives and understands schematics and technical diagrams to troubleshoot and repair radios;
- Performs operational checks. Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates communications equipment according to specifications;
- Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests;
- Remains alert to proper functioning of testing equipment and calibrates when possible;
- Performs all job duties in accordance with company rules and specifications in a safe manner.
Requirements :
- Degree in radio-communication or equivalent field;
- 5 years experience in radio-communication business as a technician;
- Read, write and speak French and English;
- Driver license;
- Reading Comprehension (general and technical); oral/written communication; problem solving and decision making; computer literacy; knowledge of safety rules; auditory acuity/memory; visual acuity/memory/inspection; climb/ coordination/balance; manual/finger dexterity;
- Must be able to work independently and safely and is expected to respond to calls outside regular working hours when necessary for proper operation of Railway.
