Java Developer for Contacts Repository
Position Description
We're looking for seasoned Java developer with strong architecture skills to join the Contacts development team. EDG Contacts is a Firmwide centrally repository of all external contacts. We are renovating Contacts platform and we need strong java developer and architect to help architect and implement SOA based platform for Contacts. EDG Contacts involves building a highly available, fault-tolerant distributed system that will require innovative design and implementation. Our challenges include managing high-performance access to large amounts of data, including real-time updates and guaranteed availability.
In addition to core development work and system architecture, our Java developer will be expected to mentor other developers and work with globally distributed teams to coordinate integration effort.
Skills Required
- Strong server-side Java development experience
- Background in distributed database-driven applications, including SQL, table design, performance tuning, etc.
- Experience with Event-Driven and SOA Architecture
- Strong proficiency with one or more of: Hibernate, Spring, Apache CXF (SOAP and REST)
- Basic Linux proficiency
Skills Desired
- Web development experience with Ext JS or DHTML/Ajax is a big plus.
- Familiarity with standard development tools like Eclipse IDE, Perforce, JIRA, etc
- Strong Linux and scripting skills (perl, shell)
- Experience working in global/remote teams is also helpful
