We are a privately held company that designs, manufactures and markets a comprehensive array of outdoor lighting products aimed at the Home Improvement/Home Decor Market is looking for a Junior Mechanical Designer to join its design team and collaboratively develop new lighting products.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The person we are seeking will play an active role within the research and development team while using a Simultaneous Engineering approach. As an innovative, well organized and detail-oriented individual, the ideal candidate must also be creative with the ability to work independently and within a team. The tasks of this person will be shared amongst the areas of design, prototyping and laboratory.
Reporting to the Senior Designer, the main responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:
• Produce 3D design of multiple parts products;
• Produce product specification;
• Produce prototype;
• Verify working of the product;
• Verify production tooling;
• Verify production parts
• Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
DEC / AEC / DEP Mechanical Design Engineering preferred;
Highly motivated in designing products in an R&D environment;
Knowledge in designing complex parts using
plastic injection, sheet metal stamping or cast Aluminum;
Fluent in French and working knowledge of English;
Knowledge of 3D design tool;
Pro-Engineer knowledge would be an asset.
