Technical QA Coordinator
Job Summary
Income Access (a subsidiary of Ecom Access) is looking for a highly motivated, effective and talented Technical QA Coordinator with an interest in working on challenging projects in a fast paced environment. The role of the Technical QA Coordinator involves testing, maintaining and approving changes to the product created by the company and ensuring that it meets the high level of standard set by the company. This position involves taking codes, understanding the core of the changes, and building testing scripts to ensure that the change is tested in the full product to guarantee that nothing is adversely affected by the introduction of the new code.
The successful candidate will work with developers to ensure that issues are found before they are introduced into the product code. You will also work with developers during projects early stages to ensure that changes do not negatively impact on final product changes.
The ideal candidate has a passion for testing and finding problems, errors, and items that are not meeting company standards. He/she should have strong opinions and not be afraid to voice them when actions are threatening the integrity and security of the products.
Position Specific Responsibilities
· Generating a CVS report of the previous week’s changes to programs on the development platform
· Updating QA sites with the latest code to test
· Execution of core testing and report any problems found to the development team
· Test and confirm reported bugs by Account Management Team before and after they are fixed
· Maintain change logs for company review
· Develop test cases for testing changes made by the development team
· Develop processes for better testing practices
· Execute testing on project related items to confirm that the product is meeting company standards before being included for QA testing
· Problem-solve issues during testing based on knowledge of the systems involved
· Identify priorities when facing multiple fixes and act on testing and rollout to live versions in order of priority
· Build maintenance packages, containing all fixes in a set period, for client updates
Required Technical Skills and Abilities
The successful applicant is highly proficient in the use of the following:
Required:
· Web Browsers, with developer tools active (Firebug, DebugBar, HttpWatch or any comparable HTML, CSS, JS Code debugger)
· Office Package (Email, word, excel)
· Keen eye for detail
· High troubleshooting ability
Assets:
· Able to grasp complex logical structures.
· SQL coding experience a plus
· Ability to understand coding (ASP, SQL, PHP) at a basic level
· Curiosity to learn
· High social skills
Experience/Education
· Experience as a QA tester or QA lead tester / manager
