| POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Analyst is responsible for providing project management, analytical, sales/customer support to a very large, globally diverse group of customers. The successful candidate will work with the sales team to support, manage, and facilitate customer implementations, customer presentations, customer business reviews, pre-work for proposals, shipping analytics, root cause analysis, customer meetings, etc. The Business Development Analyst supports sales in the development and execution of sales strategies resulting in incremental business to ensure attainment of revenue and margin/yield goals for assigned accounts. They will provide analytical support to the sales team and the customer to facilitate revenue and margin goal attainment while reducing the sales cycle by managing internal sales processes and customer requirements. |
| DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Implemen t ation Lead for customer solutions Consult with customer to determine implementation requirements and collaborate with team members to ensure seamless executions of desired outcomes Provides sound business recommendations when required Support sales team in the development of customer proposals for enterprises seeking to develop or re-design more complex transportation solutions Ensure RFQ commitments are effectively coordinated, managed and met to complete customer requirements relative to service, price, technology and business practices Assist with RFQ responses and position organization optimally to win Assist sales in the areas of pre-strategy analysis, developing account strategies and tactics, comprehensive and competitive pricing strategies, and developing contractual content Serve as a liaison to Finance, Pricing & Legal Assists sales in customer needs assessment meetings and analyze data regarding customer needs, desires, problems and interests Apply sales process knowledge in customer facing situations Recognize and develop appropriate solutions that combine existing capabilities to best meet the customer’s needs Support the post-implementation on-boarding process Assists sales with customer reporting, customer business reviews, invoice adjustments, contract maintenance and compliance on assigned accounts Identify potential pricing program problems and recommend viable solutions to management Develop content and present customized solution presentations to customers that include statistical information (shipping profiles, service levels, root cause analysis, industry trends/information, etc) to explain solution benefits to customers in ways that clearly addresses their problems Determines internal and customer data required to support solution definition and design Review, analyze, and interpret data for relevancy to customer discussions and solutions development Manage the analysis of data to support specific customer solution recommendations Conduct pro-active trend analysis to ensure that volume/revenue and yield levels meet expectations Monitor service level trends and provide recommendations as required Develop and implement automated monitoring programs required for pricing performance analysis Provide ROI analysis, alternatives and recommendations for all pricing programs Participate in project teams Leverage existing resource network to effectively solve business problem Provide input and support as an active team member and occasionally lead or co-lead internal project teams Solve complex problems, adapt to changing work environments and support team members |
| SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player: Bachelor's degree is required Four (4) years Finance, Project Management or Sales experience Two (2) years experience in transportation industry preferred Sales or Marketing experience preferred. Standard level of proficiency in MS Visio Advanced level of proficiency in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel MUST complete PC assessments (EXCEL & POWERPOINT) Excellent planning and organization skills Analytical and able to multi-task and meet deadlines Superior written and oral communication skills Strong negotiation, leadership, project and time management skills. Able to assume responsibility with minimal supervision Proactively establishes collaborative working relationships within and external to department Establishes rapport and networks effectively Bilingual in English and French |
