Our Client is a leading distributor of household products which serves over 100 countries through a global network. Established in the early 1900’s in Montreal and currently employ hundreds of dedicated employees. They offer a contemporary selection of products at affordable prices have become a household name recognized across Canada. They are currently recruiting for a Project Manager that will report into the PMO and will be responsible for carrying out the Canadian Implementation of a specific program.  During the first year of the assignment the project manager will be responsible for managing the pilot implementation of the Global Core Model in Canada. This includes the functional and technical work streams of the pilot implementation.

 

Responsibilities:

- Participate in project planning activities and manage the execution of projects according to plan

- Manage relationship with project stakeholders, including internal and external partners, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations

- Manage and communicate vision of the project’s objectives, and motivate the project team to achieve them;

- Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken - Analyze risk, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibilities for initiating mitigating action.

- Determine what constitutes successful closure for all parties

- Ensure adherence to IT policy ensuring documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.

- Ensure that the work streams are fully integrated to the overall Program plan at all times ensuring proper linkages between activities are represented in the plan.

- Partner with the individual teams across the business process areas, the IT functions, external partners and service providers as well as key stakeholders external to the project as appropriate to drive the project

- Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables to project teams review quality of work and manage integration of team work; provide performance input to project team members’ functional management.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Project Management, Computer Science, or related discipline,

- A proven record of successfully applying project management controls to manage a medium to large-scale initiative through all phases of its life-cycle.

- Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience involving major business transformational or IT development projects

- SAP implementation experience (HUGE asset)

- Certified PM . (asset).

- Advanced knowledge of project management methodology and tools

- Advanced negotiation & facilitation skills

- Strong process orientation with significant attention to detail

- Ability to resolve conflicts and complex issues

- Results Oriented & Self-starter (Initiative)

- Fluent in English (written/spoken) and French (spoken)

- Business Travel required
