Grounds Labourer x 3
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Main taining flower beds, landscape plantings indoor & out
- Mowing, trimming, watering all turf areas on the resort
- Preparing landscape areas for repair or construction
- Cleaning of the property - litter, animal waste, recycling, hazard trees and yard debris
- Planting, fertilizer and pesticide usage on a periodic basis
- Treating non-native plants and nuisance grasses with herbicide
- Operating power tools and equipment while using proper personal protective equipment
- Hand shovelling & sweeping of steps, paths & walkways throughout the Resort
- Day to day maintenance of the golf course and property
- Cleaning of building exteriors and special capital improvement projects
- Decorating the hotel for holiday events such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years
- Maintaining skating rinks and cross-country ski trails during the winter
- Adhering to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking 5-10 km per shift; lifting, bending and pushing throughout an 8-hour shift; Strength and agility to work and operate equipment safely so as not to harm others or the environment. Physically able to lift 55lbs (25 kg).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Individuals who have a desire to excel in the landscape and golf business
- Must be able to work safely and ensure co-workers are working safely
- Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, responsible and dependable
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently
- CPR and First Aid certifications are assets
- Must meet the minimum expectations of the Heart of House perceiver interview
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**
