CFO (Chief Financial Officer)

We are looking for an individual who is interested in taking their accounting and business expertise to a new level. The company has experienced rapid growth in the last few years, operates internationally, and is looking to add to its senior management team a CFO ready to demonstrate financial leadership.
The operations can be fast-paced at times but in a positive atmosphere. The company needs a CFO ready to get their “hands dirty” on day-to-day matters, but also able to provide guidance on strategic matters in this family owned and operated business. Duties will include:
· Establish objectives for the company and formulate or approve policies and programs
· Allocate resources to implement company policies and programs
· Establish financial and administrative controls and approve overall personnel planning
· Take an active approach to selecting middle managers and executive staff - authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
· Represent the company or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company in negotiations or other official functions - due to the significant amount of business done in Latin America, fluency in Spanish would be a major asset
The position is based in Whitehorse, YT, but regular travel overseas is expected. Standard office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but, given the seniority of the position and the nature of the business, the successful candidate will be expected to work the hours necessary to fully complete his or her duties and responsibilities.
A university degree is required along with a recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA). Previous experience in the drilling and exploration industry at management level would be advantageous.
Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
